Cute Knotted Headband for Summer!
My daughter and I wanted a cute headband for Summer and we wanted to make it ourselves. Since it is hot out there we wanted one that was lightweight and breathable, and that could soak up the sweat if we were really hot.
I found this cute idea on a knotted headband. I found some of my husbands old work T-shirts, that were nearly new still, and used them.
Here is what you need:
* One old T-shirt, this will do 3-4 headbands
* Scissors
Instructions:
* Lay your shirt out on the ground
1- First cut off the bottom seam.
2- Cut a straight line across from armpit to armpit.
3- With the big section left, cut into 4 strips about 1" wide.
4- On one of the sleeves, cut off the seam, them cut a 1" strip above that.
5- Stretch your bands till they roll up a bit.
6- Loop the first band like this.
8- Put the top left strings under the bottom loop like this.
9- Take the right bottom string and go over the right side bottom loop, under the top left string, then back under the left side of the bottom loop like in this bottom picture.
10- Pull the strings alternating sides to get the knot semi tight. Make sure your strings are even.
11- Take the loops on each side and put the little string through them both.
12- Tie a tight knot and cut the excess string.
